manufacturing testing Western Thomson Plastics has a large manufacturing site in Woodley situated on what was once the Miles Aircraft Factory. The machine shops are therefore purpose designed which allows unlimited options when planning an assembly cell layout. A great deal of focus is placed on shop floor management including JIT (Just In Time) production control encompassing kanban stock control, single piece flow and level loading work distribution. We have a comprehensive mould shop, press shop and a variety of bench and automated assembly and test machines. An extensive press and mould tool maintenance facility ensures the factory runs efficiently at all times, capable of continuous production 24 hours a day 7 days a week if a customer requires. All factors enable us to keep our manufacturing costs to a minimum, which is reflected in our competitive prices.
